Punk Illegal is a non-profit organization, and it takes about 200 volunteers to make the festival possible. Most of the work is already done when it’s time for the festival but it is during the festival that we need a lot of volunteers.

The last two years we have had volunteers from all over Europe but also from Australia. Many of the volunteers that worked the summer 2008 came back to be volunteers at the summer of 2009.

As a volunteer you will get free admission, three meals a day and you have the possibility to sleep either in a sleeping hall or at the volunteer camping. You’ll work three spells on four days, Thursday to Sunday. Each spell is six hours. The assignments can be stage security, cooking, backstage crew, cleaning among other tasks. You have to be at least 16 to work as a volunteer.
You can write us both in English or Swedish when you sign up as a volunteer.

Alcohol/drug policy

We  want to have a festival where visitors and volunteers will feel safe and will be able to trust each other. We see the present drug and alcohol glorifying culture in the punk scene as both destructive and negative. Therefore we have decided to keep an alcohol- and drug free policy within the organisation and crew.

We have set up the following rules for everyone working at the festival:

• You have to be sober and alert during your shift.
• The backstage area is a alcohol/drug free zone for everyone except the bands.
• When you are not working, don’t wear the orange crew shirt.

If you don’t follow these rules we will have to cut your wristband and take your crew shirt. If you still want to stay at the festival you will have to pay the entrance fee as a regular visitor.

Alkohol/drogpolicy

Vi vill ha en festival där besökare och volontärer känner sig trygga och kan lita på varandra. Vi ser negativt på den drog- och alkoholglorifirande kultur som idag finns i punkscenen och vi har beslutat att driva en alkohol- och drogfri policy inom organisationen och crew.

Därför gäller följande regler för alla som arbetar på festivalen:

• Du är pigg och nykter på ditt arbetspass.
• Backstage området är alkohol- och drogfritt för alla utom banden.
• När du är ledig, bär inte den oranga crewtröjan.

Om du bryter mot någon av punkterna kommer ditt band klippas. Vill du stanna kvar på festivalen får du betala inträde som övriga besökare.
